I am still deciding.
I will give myself
through the end of the day tomorrow,
which just so happens to be
my 37th birthday,
to officially decide upon
MY word of the year.
Last year I chose {patience}.
That was a super word for me,
in all aspects of my life, I needed that word.
Was I flawless? No way,
but there were many accounts and circumstances that my sweet word..patience....came rushing over me.
I have narrowed my word
down to the above 4 choices.
I realize it is not something to choose lightly or recklessly.
I must "chew" on the word a bit, "swish" it in my mouth, let it be tossed around by my tongue and see how it feels.
it has to become me, it has to speak to me, it has to grow me, it has to follow me, it has to eventually BE me.
Not such an easy choice, but for today...one word is speaking to me louder than the others....what's your guess?
Maybe tomorrow, after I am officially 1 year older, my word will identify itself and be ready to be announced, but until then...discover your word, chew on it, savor it and let it choose you. It will change the way you think if you let it.
Mine is "perhaps" -- that font you use for your words here, it's the same font I used to paint the quote that began with the word "Perhaps" on my wall in my condo several years ago... The quote was: "Perhaps the secret of living well is not in having all the answers, but in pursuing unanswerable questions in good company" ...lots of good comes from perhaps.
